Frequently Asked Questions

I am a new rider. How do I join?

The registration link is REACTIVATED every Friday and remains open until Wednesdays at 12 Noon, Eastern Time, at which time it is DEACTIVATED.

May I reset my PR (personal record)?

YES – once, before we begin!  Most all of us have had various challenges the past two years. This is not about hitting a previous PR or even hitting a PR every week in the competition. It is simply about building some community accountability through some friendly competition to keep everyone focused on your CURRENT fitness goal. So if you have an old PR that was very lofty and you fear you cannot hit it, PLEASE reset your PR for your first week in the PDC to a recent PR that is challenging, but realistic. Now, once you start hitting that number and your PR goes up, then you should be using the most recent (NEW) PR when you sign up each week to participate.

Do I have to sign up each week?

YES. We are working on an enhancement to save most of your data, but you will ALWAYS HAVE TO SIGN UP, OR AT LEAST OPT IN, EVERY WEEK.  This is important because we have over 500 guys who have participated in 2021, but only 270 or so who participate each week. Asking for a sign up commitment ensures we know who to expect in the results data.  It will help diagnose any issues that may arise.  Put a recurring reminder in your phone for Tuesday evening to sign up!  Please make sure you type it exactly correct.

Can I join late?

No, unfortunately, this results in a lot of manual data correction, and with the number of riders participating, this can become quite a lot of work. Please set a reminder on your phone! Please be sure to register by NOON Eastern Time on Wednesdays.

Do I have to ride during one of the selected times?

No, you are welcome to ride at any time from the time the ride is announced until 8AM EASTERN TIME FRIDAY MORNING, FIRM. The ride times are just provided to encourage groups to ride together; it makes it a LOT OF FUN!

Why are my results not included?

If you are following the DADSCHALLENGE profile, and it is following you back, AND you completed the ride, then please message Adam Clous and David Ginn so we can diagnose what happened.

I accidentally registered twice.  Is that a problem?

No, when the data set is pulled, it is de-duplicated and then cross-matched to the other data set. So duplicates drop out.

I registered but I cannot ride.  Will it hurt my team?

No, when the data sets are matched up, if there is not a matching “result” for each “registration” then the registration and the corresponding additional KJs that roll up to the team goal simply drop back out. So it is a wash.

Can I do a different ride?

No, the programming is specifically looking for your output result from the designated ride.
